We've all been there - struggling to scrub off the surface of a caked-up baking pan; a car's grubby rims; spilled radioactive waste. Already in heavy use in Japan, DeconGel is effectively the next best thing to a magic, cleansing wand. A while after pouring or spraying on as a semi-fluid, the gel solidifies - entrapping even microscopic radioactive particles - at which point it can be simply peeled off, folded up and thrown away. Artist Shigeru Mizuki treats the world to a collection of illustrations detailing the internal workings of traditional Japanese folk creatures/entities/whathaveyous. Not that you'll want to know, but if you ever have the displeasure of being attacked by a Kuro-kamikiri aka "black hair cutter," finger-like protrusions will aid the beast's digestion by thumping on it's gut.
